I sincerely believe that it is far more beneficial and far less costly to help a child build confidence than it is to fix an adult who has little or none.

  1. Smile.  That’s pretty easy!
  2. Write down 5 of your strongest qualities.
  3. Write a daily journal.
  4. Turn on some happy music and dance.
  5. Take a friend to lunch and pay for it.
  6. Give compliments to people around you.
  7. Plant a garden, take good care of it, talk to the flowers.
  8. Do something creative, like draw, write or paint.
  9. Sing in the shower. (it doesn’t matter if you can’t sing)
  10. Make some short term and long term goals.
  11. Exercise. (pushing the button on the remote doesn’t count)
  12. Cook a meal and share it with a neighbour.
  13. Join a club or interest group.
  14. Volunteer for a local organization.
  15. Watch a funny movie with a friend and laugh…lots!
  16. Visit a senior residence, listen, learn and gain some wisdom.
  17. Look in the mirror and say, “I’m awesome”.
  18. Read some inspiring books.
  19. Write down 10 things that you do really well – put the list on your fridge and keep adding to it.
  20. Always try to replace any negative thoughts with positive thoughts.
