I sincerely believe that it is far more beneficial and far less costly to help a child build confidence than it is to fix an adult who has little or none.

Do you like yourself?

on October 30, 2012

In actual fact, most people don’t really like themselves and aren’t even aware of it.  This is why many of us struggle through life, trying to be somebody else instead of being the best person we can.

We compare ourselves to others who have more than we do and think they are lucky to have beauty, money, possessions, lots of friends, great jobs, power and so on.  What we don’t realize is that many of these ‘lucky’ people are not happy and they are also comparing themselves to others who have more that they do.  The sad fact is, many of these ‘lucky’ people do not get what they really want and need—LOVE.  Most of their so-called friends are only with them for personal gain and don’t really care about the person at all.

Most people are never satisfied with what they have or who they are.  Instead of wishing we had someone else’s life, we should look at people who have less than we do and be thankful for how much we really do have.

Society puts a lot of pressure on us to be the ‘perfect’ person and this is impossible in an imperfect world.  We search endlessly for happiness and success, but are just setting ourselves up for frustration and failure.

Instead of believing that we lack something in our lives and need to make personal improvements, we need to determine where our strengths lie and build on these strengths so we can become more confident.

Confidence and self-esteem are the only way we can find true happiness and success.  We always need to remember that we are all unique individuals and try to keep a positive attitude towards life.
